Continuation of swimwear men like part 1…

Men’s swimwear originally included only swimming suits that offered very tight coverage. Throughout the 1900s, boxer-style swimming shorts were available – yet poorly patronized. Only a few men chose to wear this type of swimming shorts, showing favor for the brief-style ones. It is hard to imagine that such swimming suits, with the scanty coverage they offered, did not cause a scandal in those days. But these things were comfortable and were not bothersome like their boxer-style counterparts.

    Swimwear Men - History

The dawn of the new century saw the birth of metrosexuals, men who paid attention to their looks just as much as the average woman does. This called for changes in the swimwear men prefer, and fashion industry – and it led to the creation of various designs that catered to different needs and different tastes.

Today, there are many varieties to choose from when it comes to swimwear for men. Swim shorts, with their knee-length coverage, lead the pack; they continue to be the number one choice in men’s swimwear. In swim events, however, swim trunks, with their minimal coverage, are more preferred because they contribute to the facilitation of smoothness and speed in the sport of swimming.
